This luxury train provides an opportunity to travel across the northern parts of India in a perfect way in just 7 Nights/8 Days. It covers the major destinations of Rajasthan like Jaipur, Sawai Madhopur (Ranthambore), Chittorgarh, Udaipur, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur and Bharatpur.

Decor


This royal carriage has beautiful interiors and decor as it was used by the Rajput kings, Nawabs and Nizams for travelling. The train was again furnished and renovated after independence. The cabins of this train are decorated using a beautiful Indian traditional theme. The train was further embellished using sparkling chandeliers and Persian carpets to enhance its beauty. 

Facilities

Palace on Wheels train comprises 14 coaches, reflecting the royal ambience of the princely states. The cabins were therefore named after the places of the state. Each of these coaches has 4 cabins, well equipped with all modern amenities like air-conditioning, satellite TV, Wi-Fi connectivity, writing or dressing table and many others.

The train also has 2 restaurant cars, a bar stocked with beverages and spirits, a lounge and a wellness section for the guests to feel pampered.

Dining & Lounge

The two well-furnished restaurants of this luxury train are called Maharaja and Maharani, which are traditionally decorated in Rajasthani style, giving the royal feel of the past. Both restaurants serve multiple cuisines, including Indian and international cuisines, to suit the preferences of the travellers.

It also includes a bar from where the guests can choose liquors according to their taste from the wide range of collection. If the guests wish to have quality time, then the lounge area is recommended for them to recline, reading books or journals or whatever they like.

Wellness & Recreation

The peak season of the Palace on Wheels train begins from October to March and September & April ( lean season ) every year. The train leaves from the Safdarjung Railway Station in New Delhi every Wednesday on its scheduled dates. The reporting time of Guests for the check-in procedure begins at 4 pm, before the train leaves for the next destination
